Roadtrip!

While my family lives relatively close to us, Dave's is spread out in Illinois and Missouri. His parents were able to visit us shortly after Caleb was born here in Maryland, but Dave wanted to visit his Grandma Swan while Caleb was still little. We decided that since Caleb is still sleeping a lot at this point, it would be best to go sooner rather than later.

We had to pack a little of everything!

July fourth weekend seemed to be the best for everyone, so we left for our road trip on our anniversary (June 30th) to try to beat the traffic. Since the trip takes about 13 hrs each way, we made several stops along the way and decided to get a hotel at the halfway point.

Day 2: Playing on blanket in the grass

We finally arrived at Grandma Swan's house and spent some time with her before the rest of the family arrived.

I love you, Grandma Swan. Love, Caleb

Dave's parents, Wayne and Shirley, arrived Friday from Central Illinois. Caleb had learned to do a few more things since they last saw him and was A LOT chunkier.

Caleb's great aunt and uncle live in the same town as Grandma Swan, so they came to visit as well.

Sunday afternoon, Dave's sister, Amy, and her family arrived from Missouri. Since Amy also has two little ones, it's difficult to drag them all the way to Maryland for a visit so it was the perfect opportunity for these cousins to meet.

Lydia was very into Minnie Mouse.

Luke is becoming such a big boy!

Despite the grumpy face, Caleb really did like Aunt Amy.

After all of that visiting, we headed home. All in all, Caleb did a pretty good job traveling. We hope it goes as smoothly next time when he's bigger.
