Meadowbrook Farm

My Uncle Greg and Aunt Julie own Meadowbrook Farm. Now that the weather is nicer, I thought it would be good to take Caleb out to visit, especially since he loves animals. However, so much has been going on that we never got around to making the short trip to Huntly, VA. Fortunately, last night my mom called and said Dad thought it would be nice if we could all visit today. Dave stayed home to work on a Bible study he will be leading soon, but Caleb and I decided to join my parents for a fun-filled Sunday afternoon.

We started our day together down by the pond with a little fishin'.

Who caught the biggest fish, fellas?

Caleb tried his luck fishing in the bucket.

He was splashing more than the fish, of course.

"Oh my! They have lots of rocks here. I love rocks."

Enjoying the view with Grandma Sharon

Time for a boat ride?

Caleb kept trying to run into the pond.

Every good fishing trip needs a little beef jerky.

Then, we headed over to the stables to check out the animals.

Granddaddy carried Caleb over to the stables.

The first stall had a baby miniature pony. Unfortunately,
they said the baby pony liked to bite so Caleb couldn't touch him.

He found some other bigger horses to pet instead.

Then, he spotted a chicken...

...and decided to chase it a little.

"Bock, bock, bock," Caleb tried to say.

Caleb spied some horses in the field, and reached for them.

Grandma helped him get a better view.

Finally, we headed up to the house to visit with Aunt Julie. Caleb loved exploring all the rooms in their new house. The cat and dog were also a great source of entertainment; he just squealed and giggled as he played with them.

We may have to spend some more Sunday afternoons at Meadowbrook Farm.

  1. Throwing rocks in the lake provides endless entertainment for L&L, too.
