Pop's Big Idea

While my parents are not usually quite so extravagant, for Easter this year, they bought Caleb and Hadley a swing set. My dad has been wanting to buy Caleb one for a while now, but we've been shopping around for about a year to find one that would be durable and appropriate for the kids to play on for years to come. My parents finally found one at Toys"R"Us a couple months ago and lugged the four boxes of disassembled swing set to our backyard.

Dad's big idea turned into a big project. After reading several reviews that warned about how difficult the swing set was to put together, he hired one of his friends to come help him get it up. While my dad is great at building things, in this case I'm sure he was glad he had some help. True to the testimony of those online reviewers, this structure was a bear to assemble. (It's a good thing he likes those kids so much!)

After working on it for a portion of three different days, they finally had it complete. The hours put into it definitely paid off though when Caleb saw the new swing set! From a rock wall to a slide, this new toy had it all. There was a clubhouse and cafe, a variety of swings, a chalkboard, and monkey bars.

The monkey bars were definitely Caleb's favorite. He kept excitedly repeating "mon-key bars, mon-key bars" (as seen in the video below) and trying to get my dad to help him across.

Don't think Hadley was too young to enjoy the fun. We took her out to play too!

Thanks again, Pop and NaNa, We love it!
