Field trips are one of those perks to homeschooling that makes it really exciting. To be honest, I can't tell you how many we journeyed on this past year. From parks and playgrounds to meeting up with others for more unique adventures, we saw and experienced so much.
The WARF
I shared in an earlier post about the homeschooling group named H.E.A.R.T.H that we joined at the beginning of the year and some of the trips we did early on. the WARF
In March, we also journeyed all the way to Mt. Jackson to visit the Rt. 11 Potato Chip factory there. A local christian school had invited us to go with them on their field trip here earlier in the school year, but we couldn't make it. And, since each parent was asked to plan a few field trips for the group, this was a spot I thought might be pretty cool to set up. A few phone calls later, everything was set up. Though it was a little farther of a drive than we typically do, we were pleased that the tour was free and we even got free samples!

Someone asked a gentleman to the library to speak about the Civil War in April. Dressed in a confederate uniform, he began to tell us all about it. I was interested to hear what he had to say myself, but Reid didn't last long before he was a fussy mess.
A week or two later, we got a tour of a local radio station.
Field trips didn't have to be confined to school hours though. Towards the end of the year, Front Royal Christian School
