Caleb enjoyed the hayride. Chloe, the pastor's granddaughter, is his favorite person at church and he happily sat on her lap for the whole first part of the trip. He pointed to lots of things along the way and mooed at the cows. Unlike the rest of the kids, Caleb refused to be bundled up. The first part of the hayride he kept taking off the hood, hat, and gloves we tried to keep on him while acting oblivious to the cold. Halfway through though we stopped to walk around a bit and Daddy finally coaxed Caleb to keep his winter clothes on for the second half of the journey, which was good since it was getting dark and colder.
By the time the hayride ended, it was quite a bit past Caleb's supper time and close to time for him to go to bed so he was starting to melt down. We quickly ate dinner and then jumped in the car hoping the little fella would fall asleep on the way home. I guess we should have planned ahead better but next year we'll know....
